Art has always been contemporary, but the country, time, circumstances and thoughts of man have been influencing it from time to time, and expected changes are also possible in it. Following the religion of tradition - change - modernity, Indian art reached here. By the end of the 19th century, the British made every effort to spread Western painting in India. In which he was also successful. By the end of the century, two distinct art forms appeared in the art world of Eastern India. A large number of talented artists adopted the prevalent techniques. To fulfill his pictorial aspirations and to earn his living, he started painting Indian life and landscape in European style. And some others did their best to create familiar pictures of Indian culture and symbols for the enjoyment of the rural and affluent classes. Which was called painting in the market. The glamor of foreign rule and new conflicts made everything about us seem alien. Indian artists learned the style and techniques of the British and also painted in their style. But they have also maintained their traditional art. Due to which a new style gradually developed. Which is currently called contemporary art.
